White River State Park/ Downtown Indianapolis

WHEW!!! What a big day I had. I had school & then we had lunch. After lunch mommy remembered that we had an Imax pass that I had earned during the summer reading program at the library. It was about to expire. SOooo, we rushed downtown to see this movie called Grand Canyon Adventure. It was 3D and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO SEE IT!!!!!!! And, get the soundtrack! It's Dave Matthews and it's GREAT!! :O) Here's a link....

After the movie, we decided to go walk around White River State Park, in downtown Indianapolis. This blog post is to show you how beautiful our downtown actually is. I'm sure that hearing Indiana already makes you think...BORING!...but it's not. The park is actually nice. It's within walking distance to the Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, the Indiana State Museum (IMAX), the Eiteljorg Museum, a sports muesuem, the home of our Indianapolis Indianas baseball team, the home of our Indianapolis Colts, the Convention Center & lots and lots of restaurants and shopping. Let me show you............ (as always, click on any photo for enlargement. ;o)

When we got to the parking lot there were horses. We're not sure why they were there, but it made for a pretty cool photo. :o)

This is a view from the hill facing the White River State Park. Nice, huh?!

This is me running down the hill in the grass. AHhhhhhhhhhh!!! Freedom!

This is the White River Amphitheatre. They call it "The Lawn" I've seen Ben Harper here in concert!! COOL!!! :o)

This is Bob and I on the steps of the amphitheatre. Aren't we cute in our matching outfits. ;o) (this is what we wore on Easter. I picked it out to wear today. :O)

This is the bridge over the White River.

There is some beautiful art in the park. Check this piece out...

There are these waterfalls too. They were pretty, but LOUD when standing beside them. ;o) (no, we don't know those people in the photo. ;o)

This is me. "Take Out Harper" LOL!!!

This is a BEAUTIFUL view of downtown Indy. and some sweet art!

We found this funny art and decided to put ourselves into it. Mama set the timer on the camera and this is what we got. lol Pretty funny, huh?! :o)

An upside down digger truck. That's interesting.

I think this photo came out GREAT!!! Isn't this a peaceful place to walk!!

Our downtown city skyline changed this week. Our "famous" RCA dome was deflated. It was built and opened in 1984. The dome was where our COLTS football team played. This photo WAS our skyline. Let me show you what it looks like now...

This is our deflated dome. The building in the background (click on photo to enlarge) with the red line around it. It's deflated, but slated for demolition. WOW!

This is the new Lucas Oil Stadium. Our new home of the COLTS. It's HUGE and has a retractable roof, like BOB in Arizona.

Mama and I enjoyed our walk together today. I love this photo. It's a 4 yr. old with play-doh in her fingernails, lol, holding hands with her mama. Such love. What more could you ask for.

Fall is on it's way. This little sappling is an example that our warm weather is on it's way out and today was to be treasured. So warm & So beautiful.

On out way out, I kept getting tickled. I had the super giggles. :o)

This is the Indianapolis Arts Garden. It's downtown and you drive under it. SWEET!!!

This photo is of a random building taken out of our sunroof.

And just for history, and Grampy, this building is an OLD Hotel and was revamped into the Marott apartments. Pretty!

I hope that this blog changes your impression of 'Indiana'. We have a beautiful state, regardless of our lack of oceans, beaches or mountains. ;o)

GO see the Grand Canyon movie!! I loved it! Mommy promised that she'd take me there some day. I can't wait!! :o)

One GOOFY kiddo!! (for Auntie Steph) :o)

This post is for my Auntie Steph.

I love and miss you Auntie Steph!!! :O)

Tonight I was an utter HOOT!!! lol Mama got her camera to tape me being silly at dinner. Here's what she got........

The months of the year song sang by me, 4 yr. old Harper. The Spanish version was a bit rusty, lol, but I really do know it. I will practice up and sing it for you later. ;o)

This video is an absolute nutty crack up!!! lol

We recommend NOT eating OR drinking while viewing.
Not responsible for running mascara or loud snorting sounds coming from your nose. ;o)

You,

have a nice day.

heeheehee

Prairie day

Conner Prairie was on my list of places to go. If you've never been, or if it's been a long time, you need to go back. It's such a great day there.
This is me in school in 1886. ;o)

Here I am reading. I could read books allllll day!

As soon as I got to the farm house, I got put to work. I helped pump out water to give to the horses!
These are the 2 new horses. Aren't they beautiful!!!
I'm feeding Pearl some grass. We made quick friends. :o)
Out in the barn I ground some corn into corn meal. I think I did this for at least 20 minutes. lol It was fun!!
After I ground the corn, I took some to feed the chickens!!
This dude is about 3 weeks old. How cool. :O)
This is the farm cat, Bud. He's one chatty cat. He's got lots to do on the farm, he showed me & he even has 2 books written about him. Pretty neat, huh?!
This is Bud. He says "Come see me here at the barn anytime. I'll let you rub my belly." ;o)

The apple store is open. Only for a limited time. Get them while they're delicious!!!

Ballet/Tap class

I am taking a Ballet/Tap combo class this year. This week was my second class and I just love it!!
There are blinds on the window, so it makes for some funny looking photos, but this is me dancing by my friend Elise. :O)

This is my right heel. heeheehee Well, that's what the song says. ;o)

Here I am with Ms. Ann, my teacher. We get to do our steps one at a time with her, so she can help us. I got a high five when I was done. I did a good job. :o)

Here we are in a line. Aren't we CUTE!!! :O)

I'm excited about class. I can't wait to learn more & more & more. :o)

Zoo day

Have I mentioned that I *love* the Zoo?? :o)

I was really excited to get to go today. I was a long week inside the house on the couch. ;o) This is me with some Aborigional art. It reminds me of my Auntie Steph.

This donkey is such a sweetie. I love to pet it & it likes to pose for photos with me. ;o)

This goat was a cutie too. I had to check out it's horn.

This dude was snoring. LOL!!! He really was! True story. :o)

This little one has a super tiny horn just starting to grow.

I just love to feed the giraffes. :O) Their tongues are so long and sticky feeling. heeheehee

My mommy saw this butterfly on a sunflower. We watched it for a few minutes. I think the photo turned out really great!

Yep, I LuuuV the Zoo. :O)

Feeding the Lorakeets is the best. They are SO funny. They were hungry today. YEA!!!

We have a touch tank at our zoo. These are dog sharks & it's FUN to touch them!!! Here's a video of us touching them.

I got chosen today to help with the dolphin show. Unfortunately it's not all on tape because mommy's card ran out of room, but you get the idea and I'm SOOo glad to have been picked!!!

Well, that's it for my zoo day. Thanks for watching. ;o)

A day of surprises & discovery

My ears are feeling better. My ordeal didn't stop with just an ear infection. Mama had to take me back to the Dr. on Thursday and we found out that my ear drum ruptured. OUCH OUCH OUCH!!! It hurt a LOT and I am VERY glad that it's feeling better. It still hurts, but not as bad as it did before. I go back to the Dr. on the 30th for a re-check. Wish me quick healing and no hearing loss.
Sunday was a lazy morning. Daddy went outside and found this Katydid. It was really cool. I don't think I've ever seen one before. Here's his/her photo.
I was really curious about how it was made to look like a leaf.
I think I like it. :O) Somewhat relaxing to watch.
And as if the Katydid wasn't enough, this Praying Mantis was on top of mommy's van. WOW! We think it liked having it's photo taken. Look, it's posing. heeheehee
Grampy & Daddy were outside working on my new fence (yep, you read that right, I'm getting a fenced in yard!!! WOO HOO!!!) anyway, they spotted this ginormous mushroom in the neighbors yard. Check out the size of this thing!!!
Here's a measurement of it. WOW!!!
And across the top. I wonder what kind it is.

So, to top off my nature morning, mama had planned a little surprise outing for me today. I picked out my outfit without even knowing what I was going to be doing. Boy, was I in for a surprise!

Grammy, mommy & I drove for a little bit & then pulled into this parking lot that I wasn't familiar with. We got out, walked up & I saw this!!! WOO HOO Abby Cadabby!!!

This is what we saw. It was really cute & I was excited that I was truly dressed for the occasion. :o)

Look for more of me, and Abby Cadabby, coming soon to a Halloween near you. ;o)
